Craft in Every Document Your Team Writes
Quillkraft was built on a single observation: most professionals write every day but receive almost no structured guidance on how to do it well. Our workshops address that gap directly.
Back to HomeQuillkraft began as a small project run out of a shared seminar room in central Kuala Lumpur in early 2021. The founding team had spent the previous decade working inside communications and operations departments across financial services, property, and logistics firms in Malaysia. What they kept encountering was the same problem in different rooms: talented staff who understood their work well but produced documents that confused readers, slowed approvals, and required repeated revision cycles.
The initial offering was modest — a half-day session for a finance team that needed cleaner internal policy notes. Feedback from that first group shaped what Quillkraft has since become: a focused workshop provider that teaches practical drafting methods rather than generic writing theory. Every element of the curriculum has been adjusted through direct observation of how real teams actually work with documents.
By 2023 the format had expanded to include the two-day intensive and the retainer coaching model, which came in response to requests from organisations managing larger volumes of internal and client-facing correspondence. Both formats maintain the original principle that small groups produce better outcomes than large lectures.
Today Quillkraft works with in-house teams across Klang Valley and delivers sessions at client premises or at partner venues near Jalan Pinang in central KL. The team remains small by choice — there are no associate facilitators who have not gone through the same programme development process as the founding members.
Roshani brings fourteen years in corporate communications across the financial and property sectors. She developed the core drafting curriculum and leads all half-day and two-day sessions.
Ahmad oversees session material design and the editorial reference sets distributed to participants. His background includes a decade in operations management writing for a regional logistics group.
Tze Wei manages the retainer coaching engagements, including monthly on-site sessions, written feedback, and quarterly review meetings with client writing teams.
Our standards govern both the content we deliver and the way sessions are organised.
Document-Driven Curriculum
All session content is organised around real document types, not abstract writing theory. Materials are reviewed before each engagement to reflect current formats in the client's sector.
Facilitated by Practitioners
Every session is led by a team member with direct professional writing experience in a corporate environment. We do not contract out facilitation to general trainers.
Capped Participation
Workshop group sizes are capped at twelve to maintain the standard of individual attention. Larger teams are accommodated through multiple sessions, not expanded groups.
Participant Data Handling
Personal data collected during registration is used only for session administration. Participant documents shared during coaching sessions remain confidential and are not retained beyond the engagement.
Post-Session Review
All participants complete a structured review form after each session. Responses are used to adjust content and delivery for the following engagement, not for marketing purposes.
Printed Reference Standards
Handbooks and reference packets are printed to a consistent typographic standard. Content is updated annually and version-numbered so participants know which edition they have.
Quillkraft's work sits at the intersection of operational writing and organisational communication. The documents we focus on — internal memos, policy summaries, supplier briefings, meeting records, scope outlines — are not glamorous formats, but they form the connective tissue of how organisations function. When they are unclear, approvals stall, errors repeat, and management time is spent on interpretation that should have been unnecessary.
The drafting methods taught across our workshops draw on structural principles from plain-language communication research, adapted for the practical constraints of in-house teams working under time pressure. We focus on sentence economy, consistent structural patterns, and review checklists that participants can apply without referring back to workshop notes. The aim is durable habit change, not a temporary lift from a training event.
For organisations managing high correspondence volumes across communications, marketing, and operations functions, the retainer format offers continuous development rather than a one-off intervention. Monthly sessions provide a regular point of reflection; the written-feedback inbox allows participants to bring specific documents for comment between sessions; quarterly reviews create accountability against agreed style benchmarks.
All Quillkraft sessions are delivered in English and are designed for teams where English is the primary language of internal documentation. Session content is calibrated to the Malaysian corporate writing environment — the document conventions, approval structures, and stakeholder communication styles that teams here actually navigate.
